Feeling stuck or blocked in your writing? Have you been listening to the same ten songs over and over for the last month (or year? or decade?) Mixtape: A Generative Writing Workshop is an hour-long writing workshop which uses your favorite songs to help shake up your writing process.
Come with three of your favorite songs queued and ready; you'll learn how to closely read and annotate lyrics, and how to use the poetic devices found in your favorite songs to generate new pieces of writing.
While this workshop will focus on poetics in music and how to use poetic devices to inspire new writing, this workshop is open and applicable to writers of all genres and skill levels.
